LH Band Update - Week of Sept. 28
This week builds toward Saturday's Don Hanna Memorial Marching Contest, where we perform Prelims at 4:30 pm - the top 10 scoring bands advance to Finals that night at 7:30 pm. See below for details:
Don Hanna Contest Day Schedule
10:15 am - Call time for rehearsal. Polish and clean instruments.
10:45-11:45 am - Rehearsal in the stadium. Wear your vipers, bibbers, shakos and plumes, plus comfortable athletic clothes. Save your black band logo shirt and shorts for inspection. Bring large instrument cases to the stadium for loading trucks afterward.
11:45 am - Logistics/Percussion/Cat Crew load trucks at the stadium.
12:00 pm - Lunch served in the HUB by LHABC.
12:45 pm - Inspection. In order to attend the contest, you must be on time with:
Competition Uniform: black LH band logo shirt, black LH logo shorts, jacket, bibbers, black socks, vipers, hat box/shako, gloves
Equipment: instrument, water bottle, garment bag
Hair: long hair must be secured above the collar and away from the face and uniform; all hair must be well-groomed to complement the uniform's appearance
No Visible Jewelry: all necklaces, bracelets, and earrings must be removed; permanent piercings should be covered with a skin-toned bandage
Makeup: none allowed (Colorguard determined by Mrs. Harrison)
1:00 pm - Depart for C.H. Collins Stadium, 1500 Long Rd, Denton, TX 76207
2:45 pm - Arrive at the lot; unload for bathroom breaks
3:10 pm - Large instruments retrieve instruments from trucks; JV moves to trucks/props
3:25 pm - Varsity blocks up outside buses (winds/guard) with battery and front ensemble
3:35 pm - Move to warm-up location C
3:45 pm - Official contest warm-up begins
4:00 pm - Props move to field entrance; JV/cat crew
4:15 pm - Leave warm-up, walk to stadium
4:25 pm - Take the field
4:30 pm - PRELIMS PERFORMANCE
4:40 pm - Exit field
7:30 pm - Finals, for the top 10 scoring bands from Prelims
